So little Maori Girl found herself a job in an amazing restaurant called Barcelona Restaurant & Bar in Historical German Village. It's a quaint area which reminds me alot of Paddington & part Darlinghurst in Sydney, as I walked through the doors I'm thrown into an ambiance of Spanish & old Euro with brick backdrop and candlelit hallways, tealights on all the tables and the smell of tapa's or paella wofting through the air, my first impression & thought to myself is "how come in all my 12 years here in Columbus why haven't I eaten here at this restaurant before" its such a Racheal place, and definately a place to bring all my out of town guests for sure. Its been really neat learning and observing my new work colleagues, its like a well oiled machine that runs on its own, I believe it due to its leadership. I'm looking forward to learning sharing and being me in my new space of employment. Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow
Another cold winter day in Lithopolis, yet I'm pleasantly greeted by snow on the ground, its been consistent now for the past few hours and it confirms that winter is truly here. My day consists of eating leftover new years dinner, hot cup of coffee and me updating my 2012 calendar with creative and uplifting affirmations to myself that 2012 is sure to bring major positive changes in my professional & personal family life. A knock at the door and its my little darling Sydney coming to spend his last few days of holiday with me before he starts back up at school on Wednesday, our first of many big bear hugs to each other for 2012. Happy New Year salutations shared amongst us both with big smiles and catch ups of whats been going on since we last saw each other, new years eve to be exact but so much can happen in such a short time. Like for instance he shares with me that January 1st was a weird day for him because he seemed to get injured on his right side alot that day, he managed to get deoderant in his right eye and it stung and Tahi the cat scratched up on his right arm, as he was burning the sage I told him to sage himself while he was at it to cleanse the energy that seemed to be following him. He said and I quote "I guess mom the universe is showing me that I need to be more conscious of myself and my actions". I couldn't agree more, a statement we all could adhere to. As I contemplate on my conscious self let me leave you with today's quote of inspiration.

My 2011 in a Nutshell
January 1st, 2011 I decided to start dating again, January 6th started to chat with my one guy.
February - my mum had a stroke and was in serious condition, so serious that my dad flew from New Zealand to Australia to be with her, thank goodness it happened in Australia and that she had my sister Raima there to get her help, most stressful time of the year for me. The crazy thing about it was I was telling the people that I was having dinner with that I had the craziest dream the night before about my sister who was pregnant at the time and that in my dream she was telling me that there was something wrong and I was worried for her and 5 minutes after me telling the story the phone rang about my mum being in hospital and in a coma. No matter how much you prepare yourself for that kind of phone call I still wasn't prepared to hear it, I was very very worried and the only thing that could calm me down was the hugs off my son Sydney.
March - Had my first date with my one guy I'd been chatting with in January. I hadn't been on a date in 15 years, of course I was nervous.
April - Opening of second ZenCha Store at Bexley and I was transferred from Short North. We went through about 5 chefs in a short period of 2 months.
April 18th I became an Aunty again to my sister Nessa's first child a baby girl named Zsatara Ataahua Morgan-Blackwell very beautiful like her Aunty Racheal :)
May - Enjoyed a wonderful Mothers Day with my son and it was my sisters first mother's day
June - Been connecting with my one guy now for 6 months chatting every day.
July - Celebrated Sydney's 11th Birthday with Pizza and Transformer II Movie up at Pickerington.
August - Visited my best friend Vita in New York City for 4 glorious days and experienced my first halapeno cucumber margarita, celebrated Karens 40th B'day, Janet's 41st B'day, went Tango Dancing in the city and was instantly hooked to the Argentinian Tango, had a wonderful inspiring time with my best friend in the whole world.
September - Celebrated my 41st birthday by picking up house keys to my new 2 bedroom apartment. Gifted myself a set of tahitian pearl earings to match my ring for my birthday. Had a falling out with my guy.
October - Physically moved into my new apartment October 1st exactly 2 years later after moving out of the house. Experienced my first Japanese Tea Ceremony at the Denison University in Granville.
November - Was gifted a Baby Grand Piano from my new neighbours and surprised Sydney with a promise that I made with him at the beginning of the year which was "when mummy's finds us a bigger apartment I promise that I will get him a piano". Celebrated Thanks Giving Dinner in my new home and was surrounded by 10 of my closest and dearest friends, my darling son Sydney & his Dad. I cooked a turkey and it was delicious.
December - After 2-1/2 years of working at ZenCha I was fired 2 days before christmas day because of standing up for myself and sharing my grievances of a paycut and hostile working environment. We celebrated christmas eve with my best girl Angie & her family & then I celebrated christmas day with my friend Lydia & her family, visited Marvin & Jess to finish off my christmas festivities. Reconnected again with my guy after not speaking for 3 months, we picked up like we weren't missing a beat.
2012 promises to be an exciting and rewarding year full of love, laughter prosperity and wonderful adventures.
